Sofia was purchased in Germany in 2018. She completed her MPT with an average score of 8, endowing her with St. Pr. A. status. This makes her eligible for St. Pr. status once she produces her first foal.
She is a beautifully conformed mare and blessed with a lovely character. Her breeding includes some of the most respected bloodlines, including De Niro, Hohenstein, Weltmeyer, Florestan and Landadel. From her direct lines, comes her Maternal Grand Dam, St. Pr. Latoya, who when bred with Furst Heinrich, produced Furstenlady, a St. Pr. Hauptstutbuch mare. And when bred with Don Crusador, produced the Licensed Stallion, Don Lanero, an excellent result from only four documented breedings for this mare. Another Paternal Grand Dam, St. Pr. Wicke, produced five St. Pr. mares and two Licensed Stallions from nine foals produced. These results are only some of those from the mare lines in Sofia’s bloodlines; those of the Sire lines are already well documented and known.
When I trialled Sofia, she had only just turned three years old and had been under saddle for about three months, so she was very much a baby and quite green. But I felt that with good training she would be a suitable riding partner for me in the future and also offer another super breeding opportunity. So here we are, ready to start out future together…. with fingers crossed, and a steady progress plan in place, we hope for the best.
